Nepal Needs Us Again
Devastating floods and landslides are affecting communities across Nepal, including Rasuwa and neighbouring Nuwakot, where homes, roads, infrastructure and livelihoods have been severely impacted.
For Aura Freedom, this emergency is deeply personal. We have worked in Nepal for many years to prevent human trafficking and protect women and children, and our team has spent considerable time in communities across the country—including Rasuwa and Nuwakot. We know firsthand how disasters can place already-vulnerable communities at even greater risk.
During emergencies, women and children can face increased risks of displacement, exploitation, human trafficking and gender-based violence, alongside the immediate challenges of losing homes, income, food, transportation and access to essential services.
We Have Been Here Before
Aura Freedom has a longstanding history of humanitarian work in Nepal. Following the devastating earthquake, we provided humanitarian relief, built and sustained emergency shelters and worked alongside local communities to help women and children recover and rebuild.
Our work did not end when the immediate emergency did.
Our long-term projects included rebuilding a school that continues to serve a community in Nepal today.
We Are Supporting Nepal Again
Aura Freedom is mobilizing our local staff, trusted partners and volunteers on the ground to identify urgent needs and direct assistance where it can have the greatest impact.
Funds raised through this campaign will support emergency relief for vulnerable women, children and families, including needs such as:
- Emergency food and essential supplies
- Temporary shelter and safe accommodation
- Transportation and emergency assistance
- Support for women and children who are displaced or particularly vulnerable
- Maternal and infant care
- Protection from trafficking, exploitation and gender-based violence
- Other urgent needs identified by our local staff and partners
100% of funds raised will be directed toward our Nepal flood relief response through our local staff, partners and volunteers on the ground. Their knowledge of the communities and local context allows us to respond quickly and ensure that support reaches those who need it most.
